Tango Intensive in Devises with Luis, Elizabeth, Leo & Tracey11 May 2024DevizesWe are thrilled to announce a collaboration between ourselves and Luis & Elizabeth of ‘Tango y Nada Mas’ with our project ‘Tango Intensives Roadshow’.The idea behind the project is to share our passion for the social improvised Argentine Tango. All 4 of us have taught for many years and between us we cover all the styles of Argentine Tango including: Tango Milonguero, Tango Salon, Canyengue, Orillero and Nuevo and all the rhythms including: Tango, Tango Vals, Tango Milonga and Tango Foxtrot. We have been looking around the UK for beautiful venues that we can run some 1 day Saturday intensive classes finishing with an evening Milonga. Our first venue is the Assembly Rooms at Devizes Town Hall in Wiltshire. This has an amazing Georgian ballroom upstairs and another lovely room called ‘the Cheese Hall’ downstairs! We are offering a total of 6 classes with both couples to choose from throughout the afternoon from 2.00pm until 5.30pm. There will be a break and then the milonga will be from 7.30pm until 11.00pm. Accommodation Should you wish to stay over after the milonga, there are plenty of Hotel/pubs in Devises or a short 20 min walk away is Travelodge Devises. About Devises Devizes is a historic market town with a colourful Medieval past, a wealth of history and architectural heritage with more than 500 listed buildings and a large Market Place in the heart of the town. This can all be enjoyed as you discover the wide range of traditional independent shops or peruse the Thursday market, therefore whatever your reason for visiting Devizes, there is lots of to explore. It is regularly in the top 10 of the country's favourite market towns and is home to three nationally-known visitor attractions. Take a tour of Wadworth Brewery, sample their famous 6X and meet the Shire horses that still deliver to pubs in the town. See the 29 locks of the Caen Hill flight on the Kennet and Avon canal, a triumph of Georgian engineering or visit the Wiltshire Museum which has award-winning galleries that feature gold from the time of Stonehenge and tell the story of the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site. Devizes has a great sense of community and throughout the year the town hosts an Art Festival, an International Street Festival, a Food Festival as well as many community events, many held in the newly refurbished Hillworth Park. Booking: We are offering Earlybird prices when booking opens on Monday 18th March until April 11th. You don't need to book as a couple but we are aiming to keep roles balanced so please help us to help you by booking as leader/follower if possible. After this time package prices will rise to: £55pp for the 3 classes and Milonga £30pp for 1 class and milonga £18pp for the Milonga only Bookings can be made online via the Tango Fandango online booking system using PayPal or card payment from March 18th. Alternatively you can contact any of the Teachers directly through their classes and pay in cash or via bank transfer.
