Classes for Beginners with Janet and her helpers (Dates)

Janet dancingOur beginner class runs from 20.00 to 21.00 on Tuesdays at St. Mark's C of E school. No experience is necessary to join this class and you do not need a partner. You will learn the basics of tango, including how to lead or follow. The class is followed by our popular 30 minute prctica open to dancers of all levels. Beginners are then welcome to stay and watch the intermediate class.

Classes for Improvers with Jenny and Adrian (Dates)

Adrian dancingJennyOur improver class runs from 20.00 to 21.00 on Tuesdays at St. Mark's C of E school. The class is followed by our popular 30 minute prctica open to dancers of all levels. Improvers are then welcome to stay and watch the intermediate class. We would usually expect someone to move into the improver class once they have completed a term in the beginner class, but if you start late in the term in the beginner class you may find it useful to do the beginner's cycle again first.

Classes for Intermediates with Janet and Adrian (Dates)

Janet and Adrian dancing in the Beachwood ArcadeOur main class for intermediates runs from 21.30 to 22.30 on Tuesdays at St. Mark's C of E school. The class is preceded by our popular 30 minute prctica open to dancers of all levels. Intermediates are welcome to attend the beginner or improver class too. It is always difficult to define when someone is ready to attend the next level of class as it varies from person to person. We would usually expect someone to complete at least one term in the beginner class, followed by at least one term in the improver class and then to attend both the improver and intermediate classes at our invitation when we feel they are ready. Eventually, of course you will probably feel that you no longer wish to attend both and only attend the intermediate class.

Friday Classes and Social Dancing (Dates)

Intermediate and all levels classes followed by social dancing with Janet and Claus at the Bayshill Unitarian Church. All details can be found on their Tango Experience web site.

Other Classes

We sometimes have a class before a milonga and occasionally organise workshops and masterclasses with visiting teachers. You may also be interested in aprivate lesson or in organising a social gathering at work or your club which includes an Argentine tango class.

Prices

  • Classes are 4 each or 6 for both. The prctica is included in the cost.
  • Milongas are individually priced when we run them.

Syllabuses

We run our beginner and improver classes to a syllabus of roughly twelve to fourteen weeks each. You do not need to attend every week, but, particularly for the beginners, this is usually helpful. The syllabuses are currently under review for September 2010, but here are the current ones.
